Bing Ads retiring Campaign Planner in favor of Keyword Planner

Bing Ads will be shutting down Campaign Planner on July 26. The Keyword Planner is taking over.
Bing Ads launched its Campaign Planner tool with vertical benchmarks, trending and forecasting data, competitor performance and keyword suggestions in 2014. Almost exactly a year later, Bing Ads launched Keyword Planner in the US for keyword research, bid and budget estimating.
Keyword Planner now offers a lot that Campaign Planner did, and Bing Ads says it will continue to add new capabilities throughout the year. The vertical insights offered in Campaign Planner, for example, can be found under “Your product category” in Keyword Planner.

Keyword Planner is located under the Tools menu in the Bing Ads UI.

Google adds forecasting and trend data for existing keywords in Keyword Planner

Advertisers can now get forecasts for their existing keywords, in addition to campaigns, in Keyword Planner. If you haven’t checked out this feature in Keyword Planner, it’s worth taking a look.

After clicking on the “Select from account” button shown above, there is an option to select Campaign or Keyword from a drop-down. After making your selections, the tool offers performance forecasting and various looks at search volume trends.
In the performance forecast screen, you can see how changes in bids could affect performance for the campaigns or keywords selected. A quality indicator is based on the amount of data already available in the account.

The search volume trends screen shows overall average monthly searches, as well as search volume trends broken out by device and location. If there is competitive domain data available, Google will also show that trend data at the bottom of this view.

Want better data from AdWords Keyword Planner? Use the forecasting tools, says Google

Now that Google has officially limited access to Keyword Planner from just anyone or any bot that wanted some good search volume data, the team behind the tool is aiming to inform advertisers how to use it more effectively for campaign planning.
I’m sure there are Keyword Planner power users out there, but I’d like to think I use the tool the way most people do. That is, I get keyword ideas and a sense of CPCs to be able to make a rough budget estimate, maybe do some slicing and dicing based on geotargets and devices. Moz launches comprehensive keyword research tool “Keyword Explorer”

Moz, a leader in search and digital marketing tools, has officially launched their foray into keyword research. Dubbed “Keyword Explorer” (or KWE), the goal of the tool is to take users through the entire research process while providing metrics and scoring to aid users in their keyword selection.

Bing Ads Updates Keyword Planner With Impression Share Comparisons And More

Among the updates in V2 of the Bing Ads Keyword Planner are impression share benchmarks.
An update to Bing Ads Keyword Planner is out, boasting four new features: more competitive insights and benchmarking, customizable ad group and keyword bids, a new source for keyword suggestions and time range customization up to 24 months for keyword search volume.
You can now add your landing page URL into the tool, and Keyword Planner will generate suggested keywords based on the page content.
Another helpful update is that the tool can now look back as far as 24 months, instead of just 12 months, to provide a better view of seasonal trends and keywords that are particularly hot during certain times of the year.
